OUR VISION
As envisaged in the EC White Paper on AI, by 2025 Europe will lead worldwide in ethical and sustainable adoption of AI. DIHs have become the success factor for European SMEs, leveraging on the DIHs’ Pan-European and Regional networks.
Through the DIH4AI network, research and industry are intensively collaborating to ensure deployment of available state-of-the-art European AI capacities and capabilities.
The network supports joint development and provision of ecosystem-business-technology-transformation services targeting local SMEs and tech governmental agencies.
A dynamic European network of regional AI DIHs and AI Testing and Experimental Facilities (AI TEFs) are connected by the AI-on-demand Platform (AI4EU), through flexible and standard-based interoperability bridges and cross-border services. GDPR and Data Sovereignty will drive the European AI strategy for personal and non-personal Data Sharing Spaces.
OUR MISSION
The AI-on-demand regional platforms built by DIH4AI are based on an Innovation & Collaboration platform developed in the H2020 European project MIDIH.
The DIH4AI project aimed at building and networking DIH-driven AI-on-demand regional platforms, linked to the pan-European AI4EU toolbox and experimental facility.
DIH4AI created a critical mass of AI services and seamless operation.
OBJECTIVES
The ICT 49 innovation actions’ call aimed at fulfilling two main objectives:
-
to reinforce the service ecosystem of AI4EU;
-
to reach out new domains not addressed so far by AI4EU, also through a Cascade Funding mechanism.
DIH4AI leveraged on the seamless ecosystem formed by the horizontal AI4EU and the set of DIHIWARE-based Regional platforms to reach the following key objectives
1. Interoperable On-demand Platforms for innovative AI solutions “made in Europe”
Foster DIHs collaboration and innovation capacities by connecting Regional and European platforms through the three-level Interoperability Framework.
2. AI Applications Ethical Assessment and Certification
Ensure the provision of tools, services and support in the assessment and certification of AI applications in accordance with the EU guidelines and the forthcoming new regulation on AI for Europe.
3. Intra- and Cross-DIH Experimentations
Implement SME-driven experimentations on a regional level and cross-DIH collaboration experiments between DIH from different EU Regions. An additional set of 20 SME-driven AI DIH experiments were selected through two waves of Open Calls.
4. Skills and new Professions for AI
Define a pan-EU Training Framework for AI DIH networks, also leveraging on structured demonstration activities.
5. DIH Network sustainability model
Ensure the sustainability of the DIH Network formed throughout the project, also by empowering and supporting it by a multi-sided platform that integrated the main innovation outcomes of the project and that will serve as a single entry point to the full range of AI solutions.
